About Chris
Christopher Weigel, baritone, is a classical singer, conductor, teacher, composer, actor, and contemporary recording artist. Since earning a M.M. from New England Conservatory (NEC) in 2013, following a bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance and Music Education from Ithaca College, Christopher has been a music educator and director in the Greater Boston area. He is now a Choir Director at Stoughton High School. Additionally, he is a cantor at St. Brigid and Gate of Heaven Churches in South Boston, and a former Artist in Residence (2014-2019) with the Metropolitan Chorale.
While at NEC, Christopher starred in a traveling outreach opera for children in Greater Boston and held a lead role (Anselmo) in the US premiere of Rossini's La Gazzetta. He was also a dueling pianist at the famous Lansdowne Pub at Fenway Park. After completing his Master’s degree at NEC, Christopher has held numerous performance and teaching roles in the Greater Boston area. In 2015, he premiered a recently discovered cantata by Giacomo Carissimi at the University of Hartford under Dr. Susan Mardinly (with grateful permission from Biblioteca of Venice Conservatory of Music Benedetto Marcello.) In 2019, he opened for the Pentatonix at Agganis Arena in a vocal quartet. For the past twelve years, Weigel has enjoyed touring with the Metropolitan Chorale and Boston Pops on their annual Holiday Tour. He provided vocal percussion for two of those tours, and was the soloist understudy for two tour seasons. Christopher has performed for three seasons (2022-2024) as the Baritone in the Holiday Singers, an octet that performs at Symphony Hall with the Boston Pops for their Holiday Pops Kids’ Matinees.
Since 2022, Weigel regularly sings the National Anthem at Gillette Stadium for the New England Patriots, as well as for the New England Revolution soccer team, with his seventh performance at the stadium coming up on May 17th. Christopher just released his newest single as a recording artist, “Tonight,” which can be found on every major streaming platform, along with other selections.
